Important Notes
Please read all of the following, even if you’ve done family photos with me before.
Parking
There is plenty of free street parking.
Items
Leave strollers, bags, safety blankets, stuffies, etc. in the car (or at home). They will get in the way and slow us down.
No strollers! We will be on uneven/unpaved paths.
Sleep
Be sure to keep bedtime in mind and have your kids get as much sleep as possible the night before.
Keep it Positive
The lead up to portraits can be very stressful with lots going on simultaneously. However, it is imperative that as parents, you do whatever it takes to keep a positive and enthusiastic attitude. There’s nothing that directly influences the outcome of your photos more than this. This is not the time to “teach them a lesson” or prove a point. Think “yes day” vibes.
Look at the Camera
Parents with young children: Unless instructed by me, ***always look at the camera and not your children to see if they’re looking at me***. Otherwise, you won’t be looking when they eventually look/smile at me.
Mmmm Food
Be sure to eat prior, and stuff your kids if necessary. We don’t want any hangry subjects!
Shoes
Please wear shoes that work with unpaved areas (avoid stilettos). We will be on uneven/unpaved paths.
Drool Wipe
Got a little (or big) drooler in the fam? Please have a small cloth/tissue on hand for quick wipes.
Pockets
Remove bulky items from your front pockets. You can place your phones, keys, etc, in your back pockets, or hand to me and I can hold on to them.
Weather
Forecast: 73° (9am) - 86° (1pm). The shaded redwoods should give us some relief from the heat.
Day of Contact
